Standards Based Grading

Tegan Morton (The Hewitt School) & Hassan Wilson (Friends Seminary)

October 15, 2019 - May 15, 2020

This full year online professional development course on standards-based grading provides resources and instruction surrounding the implementation of standards-based grading in your teaching practice. Participants can expect examples from practitioners, discussions about philosophy and implementation of grading practices, and feedback on content designed and created during the course. The course will differentiate for administrators and faculty. Faculty will be specifically prepared to fully implement or incorporate aspects of standards-based grading in their courses in the following school year. Administrators will have a broad overview and introduction to SBG concepts to better assess possible implementation in their schools.

A distinct part of this year long community of learning will be the online meetings on Zoom once a month to discuss, workshop and reflect upon the work in the course and its impact on your campus. These meetings will be on Tuesdays at 8:00 pm Eastern Time once each month: Oct. 22, Nov. 19, Jan. 28, Feb. 18, Mar. 10, Apr. 28, and May 12. If you are not able to make a meeting, they will be recorded and posted for your reference.
